ARTIST STATEMENT:

Within my practice I have always been largely influenced by relationships, whether these are physical bonds between materials or the invisible bonds that us as people share. My outlook on my work is affected by my millennial drive to create art that is exciting and relevant to many. Although I would associate my main area of practice as multi-disciplinary, my focus on the medium of textiles has fuelled a lot of my outcomes within my work. Whilst I often rely on the “safety-net” that fabric has become for me, I am currently striving to create more commercial work. My recent practice relates to the breakdown of the relationship between Hollywood and it’s “social normative” behaviour in regard to the recent accusations against many famous names in television and film. The collapse of such an important hierarchy is driving my investigation and conception of work.
